Tributes and Memorials
Honor and remember a loved one, pay tribute to a special someone who made an impact in your life, or commemorate a special occasion. Tribute and memorial opportunities at the Garden celebrate the important people in your life in an inspiring and refreshing environment.
The Garden will notify the honoree or appropriate family members. Your gift will be recognized in the tribute section of the Garden’s Annual Report. These gifts support ongoing garden maintenance.
Dogwood Tree and Bench Sponsorships
Within the Margaret L. Simon Dogwood Meadow, there is an identified stand of Flowering Dogwood Trees (Cornus florida), which brings spectacular beauty each spring. This breathtaking sight is a special place for many members, donors, and visitors. Select trees can be sponsored by a donor with a contribution of $500, and it makes a fitting tribute to loved ones, whether living or deceased. An engraved plaque that commemorates these special people will identify the tree. Just as in nature, where everything has its season, these commemorative signs are for a fixed period of ten years.
Throughout Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, several locations have been identified to provide an ideal setting for distinctive wood benches where guests can take a break and enjoy the view. These benches are sponsored by donors who make contributions of $5,000 and they make a fitting tribute to loved ones, whether living or deceased. The benches include an engraved brass dedication plaque that commemorates these special people. Just as in nature, where everything has its season, these commemorative signs are for a fixed period of ten years.
