Join Education & Exhibits Director, Dr. Mark Miller, for a deep dive into the exciting worlds of gardening, landscape design, native/non-native plant species and their roles in ecosystems, animals’ relationships with plants, and practical ways to use plants in your everyday life.

Art, Floral Arranging, Crafting & Reusing

A wide variety of creative classes are offered with some of the most talented guest instructors in Pittsburgh. Learn to utilize natural materials to bring your creative vision to life! Classes offered throughout the year include watercolor, needle felting, reused fabric art, photography, floral design, traditional hands-on crafts, and fermentation and pickling.

Botany Walk & Talk

To celebrate the beauty of our four seasons, we offer a quarterly guided walk through gardens and woodlands with Dr. Mark Miller, Education & Exhibits Director, and Doug Oster, from Gardening with Doug. Walk & Talks begin with an introductory educational session, after which the class departs from the Welcome Center to explore the Garden. Registration includes lunch from our celebrated Canopy Café and daily admission to the Garden.
