Local artist Andrew Eppich dives into his artistic practice, including wool spinning, weaving, knitting and crochet. Join us to learn about his journey into fiber art and the inspiration for the pieces included in Love, Interwoven, on display in the Welcome Center through February 25.
Andrew will also be joined in this artist talk by fiber artist Carolyn Carson, whose work is also featured in Love, Interwoven. Carolyn’s work reflects her belief in the strength of women and the beauty of nature, expressed through an intuitive weaving process with a multi-harness floor loom.

Andrew EppichFiber Artist
Andrew Eppich has been weaving since 2019 and spinning for about 2 years. He enjoys wool spinning, weaving, knitting and crochet and was thrilled to receive a blue ribbon at the Washington County Fair last year for his hand-spun wool. Outside of fiber art, he works as a Clinical Therapist.

Carolyn CarsonFiber Artist
Carolyn Carson is a fiber artist whose work reflects her belief in the strength of women and the beauty of nature. A weaver, using multi-harness floor looms, Carson works intuitively without the use of formal diagrams or extensive plans.
Born in Philadelphia, Carson has a Ph.D. in History and Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. Although she always engaged on a smaller scale in her art practice, it wasn’t until she retired from her position as a professor at the University of Pittsburgh that she had the time to fully develop her skills and create the large scale works and installations for which she is known.
Carson has exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently in FiberArt International 2025, Silvermine Arts Center’s Fiber 2025, and World of Threads in Ontario, Canada. Her work was also juried into Fiber Art Now magazine’s “Excellence in Fibers X” exhibit (Winter 2025). Carson’s work has appeared in several books, most recently in Variables, edited by Kadipuu, creator of the RailReed. Carson’s work is included in multiple public and private collections.
