Have you ever wanted to capture the beauty in your own backyard? Join professional photographer, Don Orkoskey, for an introduction to bird photography. This workshop will focus on how to create or find areas that attract birds, how to set up a blind or otherwise disguise oneself so that birds feel comfortable coming close to us, lens choices and exposure settings for bird photography. We’ll also discuss what NOT to do (i.e. teach birds to eat out of your hand). Classroom discussion will be followed by photographing the many attractive birds found at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. Please bring a camera with a telephoto lens (200mm or longer), a tripod or monopod, a small notebook or larger hardbound notebook and writing utensil.
