Have you enjoyed watching the birds around you and want to learn more about them? Join us for a beginner-friendly birding experience at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden! Avian conservation biologist Cassie Ziegler will begin with a short, interactive talk introducing basic bird identification, key field observation tips, and the birds you’re likely to see and hear in the garden. Then we’ll head outdoors for a guided walk, putting these skills into practice as we observe and identify birds in their natural habitats.
Participants can expect a relaxed, engaging experience with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and explore at your own pace. Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes and bring a pair of binoculars if you have them. Rain date in the case of inclement weather is Saturday, May 16 from 8:30-10:00am.
