This creative workshop will explore the art of making butterflies from a variety of papers. You will fashion two butterflies – one you take home with you and one that contributes to a community mobile to be displayed at the Garden. The artist will focus on:

  • Customization – Create butterflies ranging from 8-20 inches in wingspan, with varying levels of complexity.
  • Technique – Master a simple base structure before using wire to pose wings in various phases of flight.
  • Collaboration – This session will concludewith a 30-minute group assembly of butterflies onto a community mobile.
