In this beginner-friendly workshop, join artist Elisabeth Ridenour to explore ink drawing as both a technique and a meditative practice. No drawing experience is required, as you’ll work from provided small studies sketches to focus purely on ink techniques. Using hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, scribbling, and contour lines, you’ll learn to build texture, value, and volume. We’ll also use ink washes to create gradients and depth. All materials will be provided. Each participant will receive a sketch, five small studies, and numerous ink practice sheets. Work on as many as you wish during class and take the rest home with you.

Elisabeth RidenourArtist & Art Instructor
Elisabeth is a self-taught artist, pet portraitist, and art instructor based in Pittsburgh, PA. She began her artistic journey in 2014 and has since developed a practice rooted in the belief that anyone can learn artistic skills. Her work is inspired by animals, symbolism, and our deep interconnectedness with nature.
As a teacher, Elisabeth is passionate about demystifying the idea of “talent.” Her classes blend strong artistic fundamentals with a supportive, mindful approach, creating a space where students can befriend their inner critic and stay present while building technical skill and confidence in their creative voice. She believes that with guidance, structure, and consistent practice, anyone can learn to draw and paint.
