Have you ever wondered if you could survive the zombie apocalypse? In reality there is nearly a zero chance of that happening; however, could you survive something slightly more plausible, such as the loss of all electricity? Join Dr. Mark Miller, Education & Exhibits Director in exploring safe foraging, edible wild plants, fundamentals of homesteading and easy self-care. Common plants you may consider weeds in your backyard are often not only edible but packed with vitamins and minerals, plus delicious if prepared in specific ways. Additional resources (websites, books, etc.) will be shared for you to continue your studies at home!
Program suitable for adults (18+) and ages 16-17, if accompanied by an adult.
