Join Pittsburgh Botanic Garden’s own JoAnna Thomas and Moira Aulbach to create personalized planters for all seasons! The first in the series is a spring outdoor planter using colorful, cool-season flowers like pansies, violas, hyacinths and daffodils. We will focus on various design principles including using quality potting mix, ensuring proper drainage, and thorough watering to bring early season happiness to front porches and patios. Learn how to combine textures and colors for abundant, lush displays that can easily transition into summer.

Attend one or all of the seasonal outdoor planter classes in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Bring your planter back for the next class in the series or create a new planter in any of the classes. Participants are encouraged to bring in pieces and parts that you wish to add to your planter. All blooms and decorations (materials) will be provided.
