Connecting with nature is essential to child development, sparking creativity and imagination – and winter is a terrific time to get outdoors and explore nature. Each week, a Pittsburgh Botanic Garden educator will lead a group outdoors in search of adventure examining a different winter theme! Topics include looking for and identifying tracks in the snow, learning how plants survive the winter, visiting the bees at the apiary and more. Each visit will be outdoors and will include a story reading and time for free play.

Please provide appropriate outdoor gear including boots, jackets, and snow pants. Masks and social distancing are required while indoors. Program suitable for children ages 3-6, each child (including siblings) must be registered and one adult caregiver must be present per 3 children.
