Accessibility:
For visitors with mobility limitations, please be aware of the following site conditions at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden:
All buildings, including Welcome Center, Davidson Event Center and Weisbrod Learning Pavilion, are accessible.
The Garden is located on forested land with steep terrain. Paths in the Garden are a mix of concrete, gravel and woodchips. Please note:
- Some paths include steps and short bridges
- Guests with wheelchairs and strollers may only be able to use some of the paths
- Comfortable walking shoes with closed-toes are recommended
- Benches are located throughout the Garden to allow visitors a rest between stretches of walking.
Current construction projects have temporarily limited access to some parts of the Garden. Please call before your visit or speak with a Guest Services Associate when you arrive to plan your most enjoyable day.
Garden Guidelines:
Visitors are welcome to explore Pittsburgh Botanic Garden’s 60 acres of display gardens and woodlands, take photos of memories, and bring leashed dogs.
To respect this land, plants and wildlife, and for the safety and consideration of all visitors, please:
- Stay on paths and trails
- Refrain from picking flowers or collecting any natural material
- Do not enter, swim or wade in the waters
- Keep leashed dogs on trails and out of the pond
Insects including ticks, bees and mosquitoes are part of our ecosystem. It is recommended that you stay on the pathways. For more about steps you can take to be safe, visit this blog post about preventing tick bites.
