Event Details

The Heritage Homestead at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden reflects Western Pennsylvania’s history and has a unique connection to the Whiskey Rebellion of the 1790’s. Enjoy a local musical group playing jaunty tunes of early America while perusing local historical organizations, artisans and artists who will display information and offer examples of their period craftsmanship. Snacks reminiscent of the 1790’s will be available for purchase.

Local author and historian, Brady Crytzer, will describe the factors leading up to this tax protest, the characters involved and the significance to our region. A tour of the Walker-Ewing-Glass Log House and a whiskey/moonshine tasting from local distilleries will set the stage for the lecture.
