Event Details

Venture along the dark Garden paths to discover and learn about the owls that reside here. Join Shane Miller, from the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, in a guided walk through the Garden’s woodlands. With luck along this 1-mile hike, we will hear and maybe see one of these unique and majestic creatures of the night and who knows what else we may discover!

Adult: Nonmembers $15 | Members $10

Child: $10 + Additional Child is $10 (Nonmembers) or $5 (Members)

Members, please sign in to receive discount. Children (17 and younger) must be accompanied by an adult. If you are an adult coming without a child, please purchase the adult ticket. If you are an adult bringing a child, please purchase the child with 1 adult ticket. For any additional children, please purchase the child (17 and under) ticket. About the Instructor

Shane Miller is a naturalist and Environmental Education Specialist with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources.

Sarah Levinthal is a naturalist and Youth Educator with Pittsburgh Botanic Garden.


Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring a flashlight. This program is rain or shine. Accompanied children ages 8+ must have the ability to hike a mile, stand still and be very quiet to listen for signs of owls. Suitable for Scouts. Please be sure you have signed in to receive member registration discount.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend, kindly give 48 hours notice to receive a refund, by calling the Garden at 412-444-4464. No refunds will be issued after that point. The Garden reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment, or in the event of severe weather.
